Mash Pit OpenID: Portland

When: Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 - 4pm until we're done (event information)
Where: Portland, OR - JanRain world headquarters (map)
Why: Because people keep asking to learn more about OpenID so we figured we do them one better and show them.
Who: You! And anybody that wants to learn more about OpenID.
RSVP: Please let us know if you'll be attending so we can have enough grub on hand!

OpenID is an emerging standard for doing identity on the Internet; single sign-on, one username, one password for the sites you visit. Putting this together with a Mash Pit we now have an event that people can come to and hack on OpenID and figure out how to make it work for their sites or applications.

There will be some OpenID savvy people in town that day for another event and so its a perfect time to hear more about OpenID from the horse's mouth. We'll do a very brief introduction on OpenID and then break out into small groups to help people actually dig into the "doing" of OpenID enabling their site. The goal? More hacking, less talking.

JanRain will make sure to have plenty of wi-fi, snacks and drinks for the event. Bring your laptop and yourself and we'll make sure to take care of the rest.

We'll also be doing a webcast with the MashPitOpenidVancouver crowd during our gathering! Go Internet! ;-)
