Quoi / What

Une journée dédiée à la réalisation collaborative de mini-projets informatiques à vocation plus humaine que technique en utilisant des briques préexistantes (APIS, web-services, etc).

An all day collaborative hackfest, mashing up various already-built technologies to solve problems expressed in human terms, rather than technological terms.

Un Mash Pit n'est pas réservé aux codeurs/hackers : il s'agit d'un évènement multi-disciplinaire... alors nous voulons des designers, des développeurs, des marketeux, des penseurs et des critiques ! Vous êtes techno-philes et vous voulez créer ou apprendre? Alors venez, le Mash-Pit est fait pour vous !

This is a multi-disciplinary event... meaning that we want designers, developers, marketers, thinkers and reality-checkers... no more bubbles -- we want cross-pollination! If you want in, like technology, to build things or asking good questions, you should come to Mash Pit.

Got some ideas about "Mashups designed to provide deeper insight into the social issues affecting communities around the globe." -- Gregoire Japiot, inspired by the NetSquared Mashup Challenge :)
DiSo (?) Project - Doing a social network system without a destination site >> distributed social network. / A social network inside out. Basically port all of the functionalities of existing social networks (add a friend, poke, block, social API, activity feed, comment...) to a distributed model (you can host on you own blog/site/wiki)...

Universal Wiki Translator.. Be able to input any wiki syntax to any wiki (FF plugin + web service?)

A search engine with 1 unique access point to find open data. Contents are freely ranked by users with marks. Results could be a map of transversal pertinence for different websites : Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Flickr, Youtube, Wikia...
